Day 3 - Formby Hall
This is the one non-Links course we shall be playing - so a great scoring opportunity for some!
An early start today but fortunately no-one has to travel very far... we shall be playing the Championship Old Course, using the Yellow tees which have a slope index of 133.
Tee times for the morning are:
Handicaps
Par 3 Competition
Anyone wishing to play this course, please meet up at the Pro Shop at 15:00 hrs.
Dinner
We shall be eating at a restaurant close to last nigh's. This time it's an Italian called Villagio Cuccina. Timing the same as last night (meet at 19:15 for dinner at 19:30).
Auction
This will take place back at the Hotel in the Tommy Fleetwood lounge, just off the bar.
A quick reminder of how this works (and advanced thanks to Steve for presiding over the whole affair!):
* The Auctioneer will run through the 16 players and each shall be auctioned (typically players price at around the £50-£100 mark though some will be higher... and others lower!
* The Auctioneer will run through the 16 players and each shall be auctioned (typically players price at around the £50-£100 mark though some will be higher... and others lower!
* As per last year, the Auctioneer will announce special handicap allowances for selected players - just for the purposes of the Auction, not impacting the overall competition: Steve will explain all!
* Once a player has been bought, his winnings (see below) shall belong 100% to the purchaser.
* The player himself has the opportunity, if the purchaser so wishes, to buy 50% of himself back from the purchaser at the original price.
* Subsequently, either the purchaser (or the player if he has taken up the option of buying 50% of himself back) is free to on-sell or trade smaller percentages, at whatever price achievable, with any other participants.
* At the end of the process, the total sum raised from the auction of the 15 individuals is put into a Pot.
* The following day, the Pot shall be shared out amongst those people who own shares in the three golfers who record the highest Stableford scores in the final round only (for clarity, the scores of days 1/2/3 do NOT count for the purpose of the division of the Pot).
* The winner receives 65%, second place 25% and third place 10% of the Pot.
* Settlement of all Auction debts and credits will take place at the same time as the final bill for Tour is submitted.
NOTE: This year, in the spirit of compliance with the world of Covid etc. , all bids and trades will be virtual - no actual money will change hands.
Please double check before you go to bed that Martin has correctly recorded the shares of players that you have purchased and at what prices: no corrections possible the following day!
